La academia de la televisión estadounidense nominó a lo mejor de la televisión para los premios Emmy.

Este año, tal vez la sorpresa más grande fue Watchmen de HBO, que sumó 26 nominaciones. La miniserie es la continuación de la icónica novela gráfica de Alan Moore y Dave Gibbons, publicada en 1986.

Le siguió la comedia The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel de Prime Video con 20. Ubicada en los 50, sigue la historia de Miriam Maisel, una mujer que descubre que tiene un talento nato para el stand up comedy.

También destaca el buen recibimiento de la critica para The Mandalorian, de la plataforma de streaming Diney+. Es la primera serie live action dentro de la saga de Star Wars y, dentro del canon, se ubica cinco años después de los eventos de Return of the Jedi.

La premiación se celebrará el 20 de septiembre, pero también se anunció que a causa de la pandemia se realizará en formato digital.

Aunque la academia no ha dado detalles al respecto de su formato, el host será el comediante y conductor Jimmy Kimmel.
