Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed unveiled in Monaco

May 26, 2024

In a display of innovation and historical heritage, Mercedes-AMG has dazzled at the Monaco Grand Prix with the impressive Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed. This high-performance two-seater redefines the standards of luxury and speed.

This elegant two-seater barchetta pays homage to the racing cars of the mid-century, capturing the essence of those times with dazzling modernity.

The PureSpeed will be the first model in the Mythos series, an exclusive line of ultra-luxury, high-performance vehicles that Mercedes-Benz announced a few years ago.

In 2025, 250 privileged customers will have the opportunity to acquire one of these automotive gems.

Using the platform of the AMG SL, the development of the PureSpeed benefited from a solid and efficient foundation.

This front-engined two-seater convertible already featured a robust design, to which a central structure inspired by Formula 1 halo guards was added. In addition, two roll bars behind the headrests ensure additional safety.

The paintwork of the PureSpeed is a testament to the refinement that Mercedes-AMG intends to show. With a gradient from red to black, the bodywork features a faded stripe linking the two tones.

Every detail of the PureSpeed, from its aerodynamic design to subtle elements such as the roll bars and rear fascia, has been carefully crafted to impress. Even the dashboard clock, created by IWC, adds a touch of elegance and distinction.

The PureSpeed wheels feature a carbon fibre rim with a differentiated design on each axle.

On the rear wheels, they are completely closed to improve aerodynamics, while on the front wheels they are thinner, optimising airflow, cooling the brakes and increasing downforce.

Although Mercedes-AMG has not yet revealed the price or full technical details of this concept model, its appearance suggests that it could be close to series production.

More details are expected in the coming weeks, starting the countdown for the production of these 250 units.
