Un Porsche Taycan Turbo S de serie, sin modificaciones y con los neum\u00e1ticos con los que sali\u00f3 de f\u00e1brica, estableci\u00f3 un nuevo r\u00e9cord mundial de velocidad para el cuarto de milla (400 metros). La marca de 10 segundos y 309 mil\u00e9simas fue registrada en el Aut\u00f3dromo Las Am\u00e9ricas, de Rep\u00fablica Dominicana, el pasado 17 de marzo.<\/p>\n

Durante el r\u00e9cord, que hizo parte del Caribbean Drag Racing League, el Taycan Turbo S rod\u00f3 a 208.79 kil\u00f3metros por hora (129.74 mph). La marca fue impuesta por Jacinto Peynado a las ocho de la ma\u00f1ana y ocho minutos, bajo un cielo nublando, temperatura ambiente de 22 grados cent\u00edgrados, humedad de 93% y viento de cuatro kil\u00f3metros por hora soplando de norte a sur.<\/p>\n

\u201cHicimos nueve pases a la pista y en el tercero de ellos marcamos el mejor tiempo\u201d, dijo Peynado. \u201cEn el r\u00e9cord la bater\u00eda estaba cargada en un 96 por ciento, y el launch control liber\u00f3 toda la potencia del Taycan Turbo S. Peynado lo demostr\u00f3 la misma ma\u00f1ana del 17 de marzo cuando tambi\u00e9n se puso tras el volante de un 911 Turbo S con el que par\u00f3 el cron\u00f3metro en nueve segundos y 975 mil\u00e9simas.<\/p>\n

Los tiempos oficiales fueron registrados utilizando equipos de la reconocida empresa Portatree Timing Systems, que son lo que utiliza el Aut\u00f3dromo de Las Am\u00e9ricas para la Caribbean Drag Racing League.
